PLLA treatment uses poly-L-lactic acid, the active ingredient in Sculptra and a biocompatible polymer with a long record of medical use. Once reconstituted, it is injected into the deeper layers of the skin, where it stimulates fibroblasts to generate new type I and III collagen.
