Acne is a common skin condition that appears as blackheads, whiteheads, inflamed spots or deeper, tender lumps. It most often affects the face, chest and back and can range from mild, occasional breakouts to persistent acne.
What causes acne?
Acne develops when hair follicles become blocked with excess oil and dead skin cells. Hormonal changes, genetics, certain medicines, stress and some skincare or haircare products may contribute to breakouts, while bacteria and inflammation can make them more noticeable.
