Brown spots are flat areas of increased pigment that may appear on the face, hands, chest or body. They include freckles, sun spots and marks left after inflammation.
What causes brown spots?
Sun exposure, ageing, hormones, inflammation and genetics are common causes. Any spot that is new, changing in size, shape or colour, itchy, bleeding or unlike the others should be medically assessed before cosmetic treatment.
