Sun damage is the cumulative effect of ultraviolet exposure on the skin. It can appear as uneven pigmentation, roughness, fine lines, loss of firmness, redness and visible vessels, and it also increases skin cancer risk.
What causes sun damage?
UVA and UVB radiation damage skin-cell DNA and break down collagen and elastin. Repeated exposure without adequate protection, including tanning beds, allows this damage to build over time.
