Stretch marks are narrow lines that develop when the skin stretches or changes rapidly. They may begin red, purple or brown and usually become paler over time, although they may not disappear completely.
What causes stretch marks?
Pregnancy, growth spurts, rapid weight or muscle change and genetics are common factors. Hormonal conditions and prolonged use of corticosteroid medicines can also contribute.
