Picofy
What is Picofy?

A picosecond laser for pigment, tone and texture.

Picofy is a picosecond laser by InMode. It delivers pulses of around 300 picoseconds, trillionths of a second, so the energy acts on pigment through a rapid pressure effect rather than relying mainly on heat. Unwanted pigment is shattered into very fine particles that the body clears naturally over the following weeks, while the surrounding skin is left largely undisturbed.

Every Picofy treatment at DROM begins with an assessment of your skin type and the concern being addressed. We choose the handpiece, wavelength and settings for your skin, rather than applying a fixed protocol.

What We Use

Picofy picosecond laser.

We use the Picofy platform from InMode, with 1064 nm and 532 nm wavelengths and three handpieces. The Zoom handpiece treats individual areas of pigment and tattoo ink, while the Array MLA 110 and Peak MLA 60 split the beam into a grid of fine points to refresh skin texture and soften the look of fine lines and acne scarring. The handpiece, wavelength and energy are chosen in consultation.

Benefits

Why patients choose this

A precise correction for pigment, tone and texture, with little interruption to your day.

Clears pigment

Sun spots, age spots and uneven patches are broken down and gradually cleared.

Brightens tone

The skin reads clearer and more even, with improved overall radiance.

Minimal downtime

A brief pinkish flush settles within hours. Most people return to their day straight away.

Treats tattoos

Unwanted ink is broken into fine particles that the body removes over time.

Dual wavelength

The 1064 nm and 532 nm wavelengths allow treatment tailored to depth and pigment type.

Quick session

Most treatments take between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on the area.

Refines texture

The microlens handpieces soften the look of fine lines, enlarged pores and acne scarring.

Skin-type led

Wavelength and fluence are matched to your individual skin, never a one-size-fits-all protocol.

Process

How the treatment works

Six steps, from consultation to the onset of clearing.

Consultation

Your skin type, concern and goals are assessed in person.

Patch test

A small test area confirms suitability and the ideal settings where needed.

Cleansing

The treatment area is cleansed and protective eyewear is fitted.

Laser pass

Short pulses are delivered with cooling, giving a sensation like a light rubber-band flick.

Aftercare

Written aftercare guidance and a direct contact are provided.

Onset of clearing

The treated pigment darkens, then flakes and fades over the following weeks.

Expected Results

What the result looks like.

  • Treated pigment darkens, then lifts and fades over two to four weeks.
  • Skin tone looks visibly clearer and more even.
  • Texture and fine lines improve gradually across a course of sessions.
  • The number of sessions depends on the concern and is agreed at consultation; tattoos need the most.
  • Sun protection helps to maintain the result and prevent the pigment returning.
Aftercare & Recovery

The first 48 hours.

  • Apply SPF 50 daily and limit sun exposure for one to two weeks.
  • Avoid hot baths, the sauna and strenuous exercise for 48 hours.
  • Keep any crusting moist with the balm provided, and do not pick or scratch.
  • Avoid harsh exfoliants and retinoids until the skin has fully settled.
  • Mild redness or pinpoint crusting may appear briefly, settling over a few days.
