Picofy
What is Picofy?

A picosecond laser for pigment, ink and texture.

Picofy delivers laser energy in pulses of around 300 picoseconds. These ultra-short pulses break unwanted pigment and tattoo ink into very fine particles that the body clears naturally, with less heat reaching the surrounding skin. On the body it is used for sun spots, freckles and uneven pigment on the chest, back, arms and hands, for unwanted tattoos and, with its microlens handpieces, for skin texture.

At DROM, every treatment begins with a careful assessment of your skin type and the depth of the pigment. We match the wavelength and settings accordingly, then treat in considered, spaced sessions. Precise, measured and controlled.

What We Use

Picofy picosecond laser, 1064 and 532 nm.

We use the Picofy platform from InMode. The 1064 nm wavelength reaches deeper pigment and darker ink, while 532 nm addresses superficial marks such as sun spots and freckles. The Zoom handpiece treats pigment and ink, and the Array MLA 110 and Peak MLA 60 handpieces work on texture. The handpiece, wavelength and number of sessions are decided in consultation.

Benefits

Why patients choose this

A focused way to clear unwanted pigment, with the rest of the skin left undisturbed.

Targets pigment precisely

Energy is absorbed by the pigment alone, sparing the surrounding skin.

Clears sun damage

Lightens sun spots, age spots and freckles across the body and hands.

Fades tattoo ink

Breaks ink into fragments the body gradually absorbs and clears.

Refines texture

The microlens handpieces soften the look of scarring and uneven texture.

Minimal downtime

Most people return to their day at once. Redness usually settles within days.

Quick sessions

Each treatment takes around 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the area.

No incisions

A non-invasive device treatment. No needles, no cutting, no stitches.

Settings led by anatomy

The wavelength and energy are chosen for your skin, never a fixed protocol.

Process

How the treatment works

Six steps, from consultation to the body clearing the pigment.

Consultation

Skin type, pigment depth and goals are assessed in person.

Patch test

A small test area is treated to confirm the settings and response.

Preparation

The area is cleansed, protective eyewear is fitted and cooling is readied.

Laser pass

The handpiece delivers rapid pulses, with a sensation like the snap of a rubber band.

Cooling and aftercare

The area is soothed, and written aftercare guidance and a direct contact are provided.

Clearance

The pigment darkens, then lifts over days to weeks as the body clears it.

Expected Results

What the result looks like.

  • Treated pigment darkens briefly, then fades over the following weeks.
  • Visible lightening of sun spots, age spots and freckles.
  • Gradual fading of tattoo ink over the course of treatment.
  • A more even, clearer skin tone in the treated area.
  • The number of sessions depends on the concern and is agreed at consultation; tattoos need the most.
Aftercare & Recovery

The first two weeks.

  • Apply a cool compress if the area feels warm in the first few hours.
  • Keep the area clean and avoid scrubbing or abrasive cleansers.
  • Use a broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily and avoid direct sun for two weeks.
  • Avoid make-up and harsh skincare over the area for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Let any crusting heal on its own. Do not pick or scratch.
