A bump on the nose may describe an uneven contour in the bridge or tip, or a new raised area on the skin. Because bumps can arise from bone, cartilage, previous injury or a skin lesion, an in-person assessment is important before considering treatment.
What causes bump on the nose?
A longstanding bump may be inherited or related to the natural shape of the nasal bone and cartilage, while injury can alter the profile. A new, changing, painful, bleeding or non-healing bump should be medically assessed to rule out a skin condition.
